old "classic" MG Sea King

I have an old (50's 60's?) Mont Ward Sea King 3hp outboard and Im looking for some info on it.

the model number is
GG8962A
the serial number is
85X732035


Im looking to overhaul it so any info would be welcome

That's a 58 Gale Sea King 3 hp, manufactured for Mont. Wards. It uses a Champion J6J or J4J plug gapped at .030, point gap setting is .020 and fuel mix ratio is 16:1. Reverse the first two numbers in the serial number to get the year.

That little dude probably shared a lot of parts with the Johnny model JWs of those years.

Unfortunately The Gale 3 only shares ignition parts with the E/J 3s.
Don't remove the cylinder rear end cover as it is nearly impossible to install correctly.
