I just recieved an old Evinrude. Can anyone tell me the year and size of the motor???<br />Serial # 259450747

I am going to have to get back to you later. The motor is at my dads out of town. About all I can tell you right now is it says "big twin" on it's blue cowling cover.

Hi CubaTrip,<br /> Your model number isn't showing up in any of my books. The model number should break down as 25945, with 0747 being the serial. If is starts with 25 and has "Big Twin" on the hood, then it's gotta be somewhere in the 1950s.<br /> Are you sure on the 25945? I have two similar numbers: a 25015 as a 1954 25hp model, and 24925 as a 1956 30hp... Make sure the plate isn't greasy and you've got good light - those numbers are pretty small...<br />- Scott
