Hi experts, I just came home from the dump with an old Evinrude "Fisherman" 5.5 hp. The serial number is:5514 15068. I'm guessing it's a mid 50's motor. someone put a ton of new parts in it (coils, pts, conds, plugs, wires etc.) then it threw a rod. Looks like the cap broke. From what I can see it looks ok down the piston hole. <br />Can anyone tell me about this motor? What is the trick to getting the ignition plate off? It looks like there is a segmented ring under the point cam but the pieces don't just pull out do they. Also is there any on line manuals for this motor? <br />Thanks guys, Dan Johnson
