According to The Old Outboard Book, 3602 is a 1966 Lightwin (folding). Does your motor fold? If so, it's more valuable than a rigid model. I have a 1967 rigid Lightwin which is a great runnig motor.
We could try the Montgomery Wards motor serial number, but I'm a Johnson/Evinrude buff and may not have it. There's several good reference places if you read through this board and look for questions about motor years and serial numbers. One fellow makes reference to a Skandanavian website, www.marishopen.se which has a whole list of makes and serial numbers (in Norwegian, I think). Other sources are to track down the maker of the Wards motor...some of the folks here know a lot about that, then go from there. Try a different post under something like "Year of Montgomery Wards Motor" and see what happens.
I just bought a boat this past weekend and think I may have got a bum deal. I was told it was a 1979 evinrude 85HP engine and I think it may be a 60HP. The model # is 60553 c Serial # E02176. If any one can help I would really appreciate it cause I need the approximate age and HP of this engine asap. I think this may be a very old engine possibly a 1965.
