I'm running a 1960 Johnson Super Sea-Horse 40hp. It uses the old omc glass bowl w/ fuel filter. I need to replace just the filter, does anyone know where I can find this without having to order a whole kit?

I did find a fuel pump kit using this website, but am not sure what exactly comes in this. Any idea?

Thanks,

Matt

Re: Old Fuel Filter

Matt...did you try a local John/Rude dealer? I thought the filters were still availabe as a separate item.

Re: Old Fuel Filter

I finally found a local place that have a few left. He said they don't make them anymore so once he's out they're done. Would this be true? If so, I may just buy whatever he has on him.

Thanks,

Matt

Re: Old Fuel Filter

The fuel pump kit from Sierra has the filter in it, along with the diaphragm and all the other parts you need to rebuild the pump. The kit fits quite a few models. The Sierra number is 18-7801.

I doubt that Sierra is going to quit making it. You can order at any NAPA auto parts dealer or right here on iboats.

I don't think you need to buy this guy out. Once you rebuild the pump, it will probably outlast your classic Super Sea Horse.
