old gas my problem?

I'm sure I have old gas.....<br /><br />However why does the motor work fine on land with hose<br /><br />but in the water when put in gear it dies.....<br /><br />My question is can old gas cause this....?<br /><br />thanks........

On land there is no load on the motor and no back pressure in the exhaust.<br /><br />Good luck!

Drain it and Put new Gas in! Not worth the problems it can cause! Also, if you have old gas in the tank, you probably have gummed up carbs. I would rebuild the carbs, also. That could be your running problem!
