I don't know how long the gas tank has been sitting. I don't even know if there is any gas in it to drain out. Is there any way to clean out the gas tank without removing it? It's built in!

Plug off the vent.

Wrap a rag around a blo-gun and pressurise the filler with a psi or two while you fill a container off of the fuel line.

Smell like varnish?

If so you could set up a siphon fron the 1/4" fuel line to a can below the boat and start that with the rag blogun procedure.

If it smells like gas you could add some ( a pint)of Berrymans B-12 or equiv. and top it off with premium to make sure you have some octane. Use it.

Check or change filter(s) till you feel secure.
