I sold my '69 V-163 this winter. I loved that boat and was going to restore her but I wanted an open bow boat. Just picked up a '69 V-176 and have decided to give her a new transom, floor, paintjob and a tuneup. This one seems just as solid and well built as the other. I just love the way the late '60 early 70's Glastrons look. The project is set to start as soon as I get moved into my house next week. I'll get some pics up soon.

Do the old Glastrons make good project boats? Meaning, were they well made?

Thanks

The hulls were solid. The stringers and transom often need replacing (like just about any other boat from that era).

If you like the look and you are willing to put the time and $$ into it, then go for it. I think you will have a fine boat when you are done.

I have a 15' 1973 Glastron bow rider that I keep at family home in Michigan. It is 100% original except the windshield. It is a solid and very fun little boat. We beat the snot out of that boat every summer.
