Would someone help me identify my old Johnson outboard or refer me to a site to identify it?

Model RK241
Serial # 2264988

I was told it was either a 50 or 55 HP.

Re: Old Johnson identification

If the 1 at the end of the serial number may be an I, that would make it an RK-24I, which would be a 1962, 40hp. How many cylinders is it?

Think that is a RK-24L. 1962 40HP, long shaft.

Re: Old Johnson identification

Time to get better eye glasses and check the numbers. This is a 2 cylinder and the power head looks rather small, but it certainly is a long shaft. Thanks for the help. Jackfee
