Howdy, Horsefly.

Your Johnny is a 1946-1950 2.5hp.

Correct fuel mix is 24:1
Points set at .020
Champion J8C plug, gapped at .030

Don't have Atwater info, but someone will come along.

You might get some help at www.aomci.org

Good luck. :)

Hi Fly,
The HD-25 is a 1949 model (just to narrow down JB's range of years a bit).
The Scott-Atwater 471-series is a 1947 3.6hp model.
3.6hp @ 4000 revs.
Displacement: 6.21 cui.
Points gap: .020"
Weight: 40 lbs.
Fuel tank capacity: 8 pints (1 gal.)
Original fuel mix: 16:1 (1/2 pint oil per gallon of gas)
Originally took a Champion H10 plug gapped at .032"
Originally had a recoil starter.

How's that?
- Scott
