old merc 110 9.8 need help diagnosing problem?

]My old merc 110=9.8 would run a little then only hit on one cyl....i had the problem diagnosed as the switch box as the wires comming out of it were in bad shape!
I recently put a new cdi switch box on my old merc....i checked the coils they are good...
It ran a while then started doing the same thing hitting on only one cyl....can anyone tell me if maybe i got a bad switch box {what are the chances of that?} or if something else could be wrong with it? if so WHAT?

In order to avoid throwing expensive parts at and hoping, you need to diagnose the charge and trigger coils. Need a DVA adapter for your volt meter and the factory procedure.
