I have two outboards. I have no idea if they even run. One is an Evinrude Fleetwin, 1953, 7.5 hp. The other is Clinton J9 1000 5 hp. I don't know anything about ourboards, but am familiar with engines in general. Could anyone give me a starting point to see if I can get either running? THANKS

In general, the Evinrude is a better motor of the two. Spend your money on it first.

Re: OLD MOTORS

Hi Ryan<br />JB has the right idea. If you are serious about playing with these old motors the best advice I can give is to set aside a couple hours and pop on down to your public library and read up on outboards, thier maint, repair and opperation. This will set you up for success. You don't really need to find speicific materials on your exact models, just get yourself a good over veiw.
