Re: old parts

Okaaaay. Let's try a different tack.

Why do you need a new dog? Are the teeth worn, is the forging broken?

If the problem is worn teeth, have you considered turning it around?

Unfortunately, Neither of my "OLD JOHNNYS" books covers the lower unit on the 59 V4SL-11 50HP. Don't know why.

There are other old engine salvage sites, but I don't know who they are. Maybe one of our fellow members can direct you to one of them.

Good luck. :)

Re: old parts

thanks again jb.like i said its like the motor gods dont want to see these out anymore.as far as the problem with the clutch dog,the engaging ears are rounded off--in both directions.unfortunately its been worn so it cant be turned around.so i am left with a great running old motor and great gear set.

Re: old parts

try eBay for a lower unit for that bad boy, I found a great parts motor for the 66 Johnny for 50 bucks, although the One Woman Whoop Asss Parade doesnt exactly care for me cluttering up the garage with lots of motors, lol, ah well, some people collect stamps, I collect boats and parts

you could also try http://www.maxrules.com/aomc2.html

and if I did it right, just click here ....

Help is on the way!

good luck!
