Old PT-130 tilt and trim

I have an old style CMC PT-130 with the DCH-2500 hydraulics. My cylinder either needs rebuilding or replaced because it won't hold pressure. The pump will push it up just fine so I don't think the pump is the problem.
I contacted CMC and their representative told me to scrap the old unit and buy a new one with the integrated hydraulics. Long story short, I prefer to keep the one I have. Does anyone have any knowledge of the relevant details about the cylinder, bore, stroke, etc. so I can attempt to find a replacement cylinder. My boat has a 1986 Force 50.

Thanks for any assistance.

it is almost always the trim motor that goes out first, the hydraulic pump second, and the lift cylinder last.

Well, the motor works, the pump lifts the unit, and then it bleeds down. In my experience with hydraulics, when it bleeds off and won't hold pressure, it is the cylinder seals that need replacing. Problem is, the DCH-2500 is discontinued and parts are near impossible to find.

You may try Able Machine in Taylors, SC. Way back, I used to work for a Forklift dealership, they rebuilt all of our lift cylinders. From the main lift cylinders all the way down to the small tilt cylinders. They may be able to do it for you. Maybe worth a phone call.

bleed off is going to be the pump 99 times out of 100.

OK, thanks RRitt. I'll start a search for a working pump/motor assembly now.
