The type is a 3 pronged adapter coming out of the right side.
All the connections I see available are two pronged.
Please help from a long time fisherman and first time boat owner.

P.S. No dealerships in town.

Re: old seahorse 18 fuel connector

I am not sure on model or serial number, because I am at work.
It says Johnson Seahorse 18 and is a rusted color with a white stripe down the middle.
If it is important I can find out in about an hour after my break.

Re: old seahorse 18 fuel connector

TenE307, the model number would be helpful, but it sounds like you have an old pressurized fuel tank. If you don't have the tank, they come up for sale on Ebay regularly but can be expensive.

If you have the tank but not the connector, you can get a connector here. They may also have the tanks.

Twin City Outboard

Another possible option is a fuel pump which twin City may have.

Please post the model number for any other suggestions. Chinewalker may be around and would be a good expert to comment.

Re: old seahorse 18 fuel connector

I have never done a fuel pump. I have heard they are less expensive, but cannot say. I will ahve to defer. Twin City may be able to help in that department also. Another place to get help with this is The Antique Outboard Motor club Ask a member board.

http:\\www.aomci.org

A friend of mine has a tank, if you need one, it will need to be cleaned up though. It is one of those dual line pressurized tanks with the little pump built in to it. If you like I can see what he wants for it. Just e-mail me.

To clean a tank just dump a bunch of BB's, and a little Berryman's and shake vigorusly.

Nathan...what is Berrymans?

Muratic acid has been used by some but can be quite dangerous...especially the fumes. Can't say I would recommend it but it is supposed to work.

Re: old seahorse 18 fuel connector

Berryman's B-12 Chemtool is a solvent that you can use to clean just about anything. You can pour it in a gas tank of a car, or any 4 stroke engine and it will clean the carb, valves and combustion chamber, but too much will eat up any rubbers in carbs or fuel pumps. Not made for 2 strokes though, will break down oil in cylinders and you will burn up your engine. I use it in my lawn mower, car, truck, I/O, and I also use it as a dip to rebuild carbs on outboards. Good stuff. You can get it at any parts store.

Never use any kind of acid with gas, that is just asking for trouble. Mixing acid with gas is bad enough, but when you add oxidized steel in there, that is a bad chemical reaction waiting to happen.
