I have an old Seahorse that belonged to my Greatuncle and I know nothing about it's age or value. It's model number is LT 10 and SN 360557. If someone could tell me something about it, I would be very thankful. :)

Hi landlubber
Your LT10 is a 1940 5hp johnson. As far as value goes, probably not a great amount. There are collectors around, but there's also tons of motors. They tell me that there is a butt for every seat. Well good luck.

Thanks alcan,

I live in the Chicago area, do you happen to know of anywhere or anyone who may be interested in this motor? It looks to be in great condition, and according to my uncle it was running last year. I haven't tried it yet for myself though. I found one similar on EBAY a month ago that sold for about $300. Is that about the going price?

ll

Wow...

$300 for a 1940 5 hp sounds a bit steep. If it was in cherry original condition maybe...but I wouldn't count on getting that much. I'd think you do well to get half that.

MHO

Walt

Hi ll, Be sure you are comparing apples to apples
Condition is all important Be sure you read all the info and compare condition logically.Just a year different could change the price. Or if it was last year of a style or first year.Obviously
if you say yes it runs great that helps price.
Everyone says it ran when we put it away. Doesnt mean anything. EBAY is a great way to sell motors but shipping can be a nightmare.
Pick up or delivery within a certain distance is the safest way. Spike
