I have an old single cylinder Techumseh outboard. It has "MONO" stenciled on the fuel tank. It has a metal tag on it with the numbers "T-635-06B" and "5461361". I figured they were the model and serial numbers. I'd appreciate any info about this little old outboard. Who sold it, how many horsepower is it, how old is it and where I might find a manual for it. Thanks in advance.

Re: Old Techumseh

Welcome to Iboats, MeHeadnut!

I believe that was built by Mono Manufacturing Co in the mid-60's. Judging by the Tecumseh engine number (T-635-06B) it's a 6 or 7 hp engine.
As for the manual, the only one I know of that claims to have information about that engine is "Old Outboard Motor Service Manual, Vol. 1". Iboats doesn't seem to carry it but if you google the title, you'll find plenty of places that do. Might be worth checking ebay for it too.

Anyone else got anything?

Re: Old Techumseh

Might search for antique outboards sites. I had a couple on my "Favorites" list but they seemed to have disappeared....One site, I recall, had a section for the old outboards like Goodyear, Scott-Attwater and more....some I never heard of before. I think this site was the "Antique Outboard" site or something to that nature.
