Before I pulled my motor I noticed that my oil pressure gauge would bounce all over the place when the engine was running. I never did any thorough tests, but before I put this motor back together I wanted to put a new sending unit in. The only problem is I cant determine which type of sending unit I need for my old Teleflex gauge. As I understand it, there are three types of sending units I could use. Station, Resistance and Ground. Does anyone know what Teleflex was using back in the late '70's?
The OMC part number is 172127 with other corresponding part numbers being Sierra 18-5899 and Mercury 3857532. Getting the sender is no problem, but I would just like to learn more about what kind of sender it is as everyone out there selling them doesnt specify.
Here are some pictures of the front and back of the gauge:
Thank you for your time.
