Old tilt rebuild

My 1973 85 Johnson came with factory tilt and trim, the hydraulic cylinders leek badly do to sitting for 17 years. Has anyone ever replaced the seals themselves, and if so what type of tools our involved.<br /><br />The unit is not on the motor currently, so it does not stop me from using my boat, but it would be nice to have it. I have checked out some prices on rebuilt cylinders, for both it was over $300, I don't need it fixed that bad.
