Old Tohatsu 5hp 2stroke

Im trying to find some infomation on an old Tohatsu i aquired, its blue and orange originally but some monkey has hand painted the tank with what can only be described as nail polish!! i have contacted Tohatsu and they cant give me any info except it was built between 1978 and 83. they said the model is a BA2 but all the BA2's ive seen on the net are completely different. im looking for exploded diagram's,pic or really any thing you might feel help me restore this engine. Better yet, lets forget about ever finding any information on this engine. When that model was brought into the U.S. it was distributed by some company up in N.Y. that lacked the ability to market the engine. Very few, I mean a handful, were sold in the U.S. The distributership has changed hands three times since then and even as far back as 1985 there was no information available on this one. Other than as a conversation piece it should be retired as there are no parts available for it. Also, it's a 5 A model.

oh great, not what i was hoping for!! never the less i have the engine running fine and had a yamaha prob machined to fit. im just looking for a pic so i can get it to the right colours. thanks for the info anyway, Blakey

Look at the Japanese Tohatsu website. They have some old model pictures from the 60's and 70's on there somewhere.
