I just bought an old Skipper B trailer for my 14' Jon boat anyone have one of these? The tires are shot they are 4.80x8 would I be better off going with a larger tire like 5.70x8? I would have to remount the fenders a little higher.

I run the smaller tires on my sailboat trailer with no problems. Just keep them inflated right and the bearing packed well.

I'd stick with the lighter tire since the next bigger tire will carry a higher load rating and give a harsher ride with such a light boat.

If properly inflated, the tires will be fine.
The biggest thing with small tires is higher wheel bearing speeds, make sure your bearings are good condition, well lubed, and properly adjusted.
