How many of you would put a new Merc 175 on a 1988 ranger 374v. Only a few minor issues with the boat but otherwise structurally sound.

I put a brand new e-tec on a boat made in 1964 ..
‘It’s your boat do with it as you will ..But like Scott said just make sure it’s sound ...

I got a brand new Suzuki for my 1987 restoration, nothing wrong with putting modern power and efficiency on and older boat, just be sure of that structure (core samples).

It won't increase the value of the boat much, but it will at least carry the value of that motor.

What kind of inspections have you done to ensure the boat is "Structurally Sound". She's a 30 year old Bass Boat. Unless she's been meticulously cared for...I seriously doubt that she doesn't have some structural issues.
