Re: Older 70's Jon

Google bow fishing and see what you can find, I am sure there is a forum just for that somewhere.

Anytime I get into a project like this I always start with paper, pencil and a tape measure, if you can't get it down on paper you probably won't be able to build it either.

Wiring is pretty basic, you go from the battery negative to whatever you are wiring neg, then take the posative from the battery to a fuse/ breaker then to one side of a switch, from the other side of the switch to what you are trying to power, switches and fuses always go on the posative wire.

If you are running a couple things instead of running a power and ground for each you can use a main bus which is a posative and negative that run the length of the boat, when you need to power something you just tap into the main, this saves a ton of wire since you only have to wire a portion of the circuit.

Start small and you will learn, I used to be electrically challenged, I actually hooked POS to one side of a battery kill swithc and the NEG to the other, I thew the switch and created a toaster!!!

You do learn, last year I wired a 6 pole switch for an electric anchor by myself so it isn't that hard once you understand it.

Re: Older 70's Jon

I have a friend who years ago built a shooting platform on a fairly good size Jon boat. He also equipped it with a railing so he had something to lean his leg on. He was an avid Carp and Gar hunter with a bow.
