older chevy V8 on a 1994 Alpha one od

i have a 1994 Alpha1 od that some one put a older style Crate Motor supposedly 350 V8 with the 2 piece rear main in the boat

motor has a bad vibration (Even with the OD removed ) i cant see anything wrong with the fly wheel or coupling and have changed the harmonic balancer.

i thought i saw in this forum that you could not use the older style coupling with an alpha 1, I want to make sure that i can use the older style coupling be for i go much farther the coupling seem to fit the shaft properly

i am starting to suspect that this guy had a 383 motor built an that i am going to need a 400 flywheel and Balancer

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,.... That's a Loaded question that really can't be answered when dealin' with junkyard dogs,...

It depends on the flywheel cover used,...

It depends on the flywheel cover used,...

the cover did not hit however they left the bottom sheetmetal cover plate off will that hit if the wrong one is used
or is the large part with the mount

should have said the alignment was a little off but not real bad we turned the motor over and the alignment toll
wiggled about 1/8 of an inch motor vibrates without the OD on the boat is it possible that a warped coupling would cause that.

coupling sits flat on the fly wheel and i dont see any elongated bolt holes on that or the fly wheel
