Boat is a 15 foot fiberglass trihull, engine is a 1976 75hp johnson. It is equipped with electric tilt and trim. I admit i'm a newb, and dont know how to properly use these features.
However, the tilt works good when no stress is on it. once in the water under load, it will hold itself, but if you let it down and try and lift it up again (while driving on plain) there is no way it will lift the motor.. Is it supposed to? also does this electric trim/tilt run with some kind of oil in it, and if so shoulod it be changed.
Once and a while out of the water the motor doesnt want to lift. the little electric motor runs, but nothing happens. its like it become air locked and you have to tilt it down just a bit, then it come back up no problem. any advice appreciated.
