just a question in regards...when you crank the engine ( pull start ) the fuel is supposed to enter the fuel filter and carb.? When I pull mine there is no fuel coming out....or is it when the engine is running that it moves the fuel....thanks to all in advance

As TD stated, you need to prime the fuel system with teh primer bulb. As the motor turns over (electric start, pull start or running), it pumps fuel to the carbs.

In theory you could fill the carb by operating the pull start, however, it would take quite a few pulls.

You can start by telling us what motor you are working on. You can't go to an auto parts store and ask for a pump for a Ford, can you? Is it for a Model T or a Mustang? Oh yeah, Model T's didn't have fuel pumps did they?

Good one F_R.:D:D

You should be able to get a new fuel pump here at iBoats for your motor, depending on the model and year. Like F_R said, post the motor you're working on and we can better help you.

Fuel pumps on average are about $50 and up.
