Older speedometer question.

I have an old pitot fed speedometer on board my rig. It has not worked on the water at all. I checked for a clogged pitot hole and found it open. I removed the gauge and hooked up a small length of pitot hose to it. I blew in to the hose and could BARELY move the needle. I assume that it should move with me blowing in to it, but I am not sure. Should I be able to move the needle by blowing in the tube? I'm guessing it's trashed.

Should it move-YES. But, not much.

Are you sure the tube between the pitot and the speedo head is OK? No leaks/kinks?

Well, I am not really sure about that. When I say I blew in to it, I really put the pipes to it and got it to about 5 or so. The hose is quite stiff and I imagine that it was originally more flexible. I'm basically looking for an excuse to buy a gauge set from iBoats :D
