OMC 2.3l Ford - Broken Balance Weight Spring

I've got an OMC - Ford 2.3L Engine. I pulled the plate off of the distributor in the process of converting to elect. ignition. And, of course, nothing is straight forward. While inspecting the balance weights, one of the the springs were broken. Called the local boat parts shop and the only thing OMC lists is replacing the complete distributor... You've got to be kidding...

Anyone have any ideas about getting the correct springs for this thing. I can't imagine replacing the distributor for a single broken 30 cent spring.

I would try a performance auto parts house. They would have spring kits for a few of the distributors from and for Ford/GM/Chrysler and maybe some of those could fit and work.
