I will be installing a good running powerhead to replace the scored one on a 1982 omc 25. I have the same year 35 for parts and will be using the exhaust tuner and carb from the 35 just for the hp increase. Are there any other parts that must be changed to make this motor a true 35 hp?

i'd fix up the same year 35 with parts from the 25. You are talking about 2 different lower units, exhaust housings, and possibly tilt tube.

Otherwise, you will never get a true 35hp because it wasn't actually a 35 to begin with, and without the thru-hub exhaust you won't reach the performance of the 35

Thanks for the reply fellows. Looked at the other thread and there is some excellent information there that answers all of my questions.

Unfortunately the 35 hp lower unit is long gone from my parts motor so will be using the non -through prop exhaust style from the 25.
