SORRY FOR THE LENGTH OF THIS! I have a 1991 3.0 OMC COBRA motor, when I am getting ready to go out I usually fire it up in the driveway, now i hook up the flusher and garden hose, and it starts right up no problem, now i tow it 15min. down the road, put it in the water and it's 5 embarassing min. of turning it over to finally get it running, I do prime it, and it is not flooded. Now once it is running it runs great, until i turn it off. even if i let it sit 5 min. it will eventually start but it is difficult, no matter how long it sits as long as it is in water. now i bring it home hook it up to the hose no problem, also the boat does not take on water.<br />ON the same note could a bad shifter or ignition switch have anything todo with this? The reason i ask is when you start it in neutral it will turn over now when you engage the throttle (NO PROP)it sometimes will turn over some timesi turn the key and get nothing until i put it back in neutral. Could these be related? Thanks in advance for your thoughts!!
