ok so this is a 90 omc 3.0 stern drive cobra, or how ever u feel like wording it. shes is not pulling water from the lower unit. the impeller in the rear is new, the timing is set, tune up is done. she just wont suck water up, i can flush water from inlet side of the impeller and push water from the engine side down but not the stern drive side up to the engine. is there a vavle somewhere on the transom that would prevent water from traveling if it were to get clogged

Nope its a pump issue. Did you put a new housing and liner in along with impeller?

Make sure that the 0-ring on the plastic housing is in place inside the groove. If it's not, it'll suck air. Sometimes when putting the cover on the 0-ring will move if u twist the cover. That's why the impeller has to be lined up exactly with the pump shaft with the narrow ends facing down.

Re: omc 3.0 stern drive

ok so i have done everything yall said and its was a combination of 3 things, the impeller, the muffs that feed water were not giving enough water pressure for water to reach the impeller, and there were 3 small flat head screws that were not inplace on the the upper unit, that i noticed this morning that the wholes were leaking water, so i put them in and noticed a huge difference in the engine, and the fact that i now i have water being pulled up to the inlet hose
