OMC 3.0l 1988 failed ESA

Engine stalled and won't start.
If I connect the battery directly to the coil, it runs like a champ.

I can't get any voltage out of Shift Module (part number 987740) to coil, in any condition.

Interuptor switch and over shift switch(sp?) both tested correctly.

Should I order a new Shift Module?
I have points, not electronic ignition.

Since you have points don't run it long with 12 volts you will burn up the points.
