OMC 3 gallon oil level pickup

I'm replacing my 1997 oil tank. The old tank had a oil level pickup with a helm mounted gauge. The pickup requires ~ a 2" hole in the top of the tank. The new tanks come with a much smaller hole with the same bolt pattern. I see that they went to a "linear" type senders in the new systems. Wondering if the new senders fit the smaller hole? Easier to buy new sender than drill a bigger hole in the tank.

I'd check with a local BRP dealer and see what he has to say before you do any drilling.
