Does anyone know where to get a tachometer wiring plug without paying $30 for a complete wiringh harness (OMC 0174732)? The female plug on the OMC control box is part #0511990, but I can't find the mating male plug anywhere. I'd rather not splice into the main wring control cable, but if I gotta pay $30 for an entire harness, I might as well just splice it. Let me know if anyone knows where to get one! Thanks.

I believe you can just go into the control box and connect wires from the tach to the same places the plug would normally connect to. That's the way it was done in prior years before the plug was offered. The plug just makes it easier.

Make the harness. Radio Shack or any military or electronic surplus store will have the pins. Solder or crimp the pins to the wires and plug them into the connector. If you then coat the inner rim of the connector with a light coat of oil, squeeze silicone into the cavity and let it cure. You then have a plug that can be removed.
