OMC 4.1 Ignition

Moin mates,
I`m the new one and I call from germany. I have a problem with my Reinell RY1810. My boat is married with a OMC / GM 4.1 straight 6,250cid. After one hour running, the engine break down. It sounds like a blocked filter because the engine runs not on all cylinders. After 20 min. (cool down), I can restart the motor and it run`s ......I`m guessing the ignition resistor is broken.....sorry for my english:lol:

A common problem on older OMCs that runs terrible when hot, is the rotor in the distributor. When this one gets hot, the connection gets bad and causes the engine to run bad or stall.

But a complete tune up in the distributor would probably do good,; points, rotor and condensor.
