Yeah I was reading some of the other comments about this problem and seems I have the same. Running up the water at 3/4 to full throttle and trim up, my boat nearly dies, seems to loose all power and seriously lug. I took apart my shift/throttle and did find a bared wire, repaired it but problem persists. Anyone with any help or that may have solved a similar problem, help me please!!
Thanks

Re: OMC 4.3l, trim issues!!

The trim pump can draw so much power that the ignition can cut out momentarily. I think there was a service bulletin on this, but you'd have to find an ex OMC dealer to find out what was involved in fixing it. In the meantime I'd make sure all your battery and ignition connections are good and clean, since corrosion on batt terminals and the ig coil can exacerbate this problem. BTW, I don't recall ever having this problem with my 88 OMC 4.3, but I have heard of it before on message boards.
