omc 400 water pump shaft

i have a chance to purchase two 1967 omc sterndrives, which i want to use for parts, can anyone tell me if the 1967 inner upper gears interchangeable with the 1985 omc 400 outdrive. i am looking to replace the water pump shaft and the drive shaft that the water pump shaft goes into.

I don't believe there is much of anything you can use off of those drives.

Doubtful. Looked at the BRP site diagrams and the gears do not match up by number and actually look different. Only could go back as far as 1968
