I have an OMC 460 and the ignition system has computer controlled coil packs that run the wires. There are two packs with four terminals that electronically run the motor.
One of those packs is burnt and I cannot find a replacement anywhere.
I think I can switch back to a distributor system without causing too many problems, but I wanted to ask in case there are big issues.
Anybody done this? Can anybody think of a reason it might not work properly? I will finish reassmebly of my motor today and hope to do the ignition conversion at the same time. I have access to distributor and the harness from a donor OMC 460 that is an earlier year than mine.
