first, is there fuel in the clear tygon hose coming from the fuel pump - yes or no?

If yes, you need a new fuel pump

if no, is there fuel pooling in the bottom of the intake from the welsh plugs? yes or no?

if no, then change oil and monitor. if it happens again, it could be fuel pump has ruptured internal diaphragm and the tell-tale hose is plugged up.

If you turn on the ignition does the electric fuel pump start running, it is not supposed to. That is the purpose of the safety switch, it is only closed when there is oil pressure.
