Hi, I have a 90 225 sundowner, with a omc 5.8 cobra, with about 500 hours on it. I've owned the boat for about two months. My question is about idle and take off/mid throttle. I drop the boat in the water and choke it and it fires up pretty easy, but if I don't let it warm up 1/4 of the way it wants to die out unless coked. The next thing is that once I go to hit it to get on plane the boat kinda misses at mid range but once you hit it 3/4 or so it cleans up and goes.

Needs carb adjustment and or rebuild. Wants to die until it warms up, that most cases is choke adjustment. Misses at midrange, so its not getting enough fuel, so either power valve or accelerator pump repair or adjust. What carb is on the motor?

I will check when I get home what carb in on the motor,as I'm unsure what one it is. The boat world is new to me.

I have a holly carb .I also push the throttle down and it shoots two nice streams of gas in so I think the accelerator pump is fine. I did notice the air filter is dirty. I also think I have a electronic choke

Missing getting on plane if the carb is clean then most probable cause is the power valve
