OMC Aftermarket Parts??

I need a power pack for my Johnson 70hp, and I see all these aftermarket parts (Sierra) on the Internet at much lower prices then OEM stuff.

Has anyone had any bad experiences using this stuff??

I have had very good experience with Sierra parts. In fact, I have had good experience with all of the Teleflex Companies.

I see now that our host, iboats, sells Sierra parts.

Having said that, I now realize I might not get an unbiased opinion here on this forum.

I'm usually onboard with that theory that you get what you pay for, thats all.

So, I'll take a chance and buy a Sierra power pack and see how it goes )

Just because they sell Sierra parts here doesn't mean you will not get unbiased advice. Alot of people use Sierra because they are cheaper for certain parts and they work just as well as OEM parts. For some items such as carb kits, it would be best to use OEM rather than aftermarket...

the members of the forum and not affiliated with iboats.com. we do like to use there store, when econmically feasible, and they have what we need. their customer service is great. but we're not tied at the hip to iboats.. we appreciate the fact that they provide us with is great informative forum. for free, and try to support them. you will get an unbias opinion here, it may not be what you want to hear either.

Sierra has a lot of good parts, some parts I'd rather get from the OE, some parts I'd rather get from a different aftermarket company. Ignition parts I'd rather get from CDI.

Would not want to sound biased, but iboats retails CDI as well.
