OMC BRP Fuel pump part numbers

I am confused by all the different part numbers for the older square style fuel pump.

I found this one on eBay but it says only used by 9.9 and 15hp. I thought all motors from 1966 to 1987 4 - 40 HP used the same pump?

Let's say similar instead of same. They come in all sorts of configurations, which direction the fittings point, which side is right side up, etc, etc.

will the newer style pumps work on the pre-87 models?

should. (See there is another Chinese pump out there, or one I hadn't noticed -- clicked before thoroughly checking, but seems to work.)
