Is there such a kit to change a four barrel quadrajunk to a fuel injection system. I've looked around a little bit online, I can't seem to find one. It's for an 88 OMC 5.7. The carb is on an edelbrock manifold and doesn't seem to look like it's the proper fit... Instead of spending a thousand dollars on a Holly carb and dyno matched manifold, is it practical to do a change like that???.. Thanks for any help...

What year is this engine? The cost of injection is around $1000. The benefits aren't wroth it.

Ayuh,... Bolt on an Edlebrock Carb...

The Kits you're lookin' for run about Twice the value of your boat....

How much do you think EFI will cost? A bit more north than a grand, methinks.

A good, fresh carb on a leak-free, properly fitted intake manifold (regardless of manufacturer) will make your engine run great. If your Edelbrock manifold is the standard Performer type, you're in good luck (and someone wasted their money on a pointless intake manifold "upgrade") as it's basically stock. If the intake manifold is visibly taller than stock, it's the wrong one for your engine.

O.k... So...?... There is a kit for that? The motor is a 1988 OMC 5.7 chevy motor.(pretty sure I said that originaly so I wouldn't get jumped with the "adults only" thing) The previous owner just didn't keep up on some of the mechanical aspects, and I have brought everything up to par on that side except the this carb matter... The boat is in excellent shape and is something I plan to hang on to for as long as possible. So... Where can I find one of these kits? Thanks to all for the input..

there is kits available, but for a motor that old, unless it's been rebuilt or replaced, won't make a difference enough to justify the cost. summitracingonline.com has a few kits and prices. if you plan on a rebuild, with mild internal upgrades, then injection might be a good idea. keep in mind the age and hours on the current motor. a $1500 upgrade/swap won't be worth it if motor coughs up soon afterwards.

Find the carb model number, call NAPA, get a kit on order. Unless something is actually broken with the carb or worn beyond repair (which is unlikely being it's in a boat), after you kit the carb it'll run fine.
