Will a 1991 OMC cobra outdrive 3.0 bolt right on to a 1988 OMC cobra 3.0 without having to change anything. When I look on internet looks like my outdrive will only work with 1987 thru 1990 . My outdrive (1988 cobra) upper gear is chew up and the gear cost as much as a used outdrive does. thanks.p.s. also will the shaft splins go right in.

Howdy,

Yes. The 1991 dog-clutch drive has the same bolt pattern and the splined-yoke for both years has the same part number (#0912212)
You can view OMC parts numbers at http://epc.brp.com/

Now having said that, now might also be a good time to consider changing to an SEI drive.

Cheers,

Rick
