I have just bought a 1990 Donzi Ragazza, with a OMC Cobra 2.3 Ford. The boat is in awesome shape, but needs more power!! Is It possible to bolt up a larger engine to the drive, or does the entire steardrive have to be replaced?
the gear ratio will kill you. those engines usualy do good in a boat high rpm motors. they are usualy in boats 17 ft and under are you operating the motor to its poetential? prop size and rpm's?
A.D. Thanks for the reply. The boat is an 18 footer. It runs right on the engine specs when lightly loaded. Naturally it is doggy pulling anyone up, or loaded down. I am thinking of working on having different props, that I would change out depending on the conditions of use.
