OMC Cobra Gimall housing Removal

I would like to removing the Gimbal housing on my boat to inspect the transom for rot.

Is the rubber seal on the housing re-usable, or do I need to order a new one? Any other parts/gaskets that need to be replaced when the housing is removed?

You do not have to take the Gimbal housing off the boat to check for rot. Might want to check over in the restoration forum for how it's done without taking your boat apart.
BUT, if you do want to, you will need a new seal, they are not reusable.
You do realize that you have to pull the outdrive, and the engine, remove the exhaust pipe just to get to the gimbal housing to remove it.
