Omc cobra id lookup

I just bought a 1990 sunbird with a 3.0 L cobra motor and outdrive. Boat runs good. Cant find any info on the motor as to if its a GM or Ford motor, Hp rating , specs etc. Model number is 986321, serial number is T0705270. 3.0L Can someone help me out as to the specs on this. I found a model and serial number lookup but none of it makes sense with these numbers. This is on a plate on the port side of the outdrive.

Your model number is wrong. It should read something more like "302AMRPWC 1990." There should be a tag on the engine somewhere. Typically I find them on the starboard side, maybe on the rear mounts. But that's not always the same.

I believe the engine itself should be a GM 181.

I found a sticker on the starboard side of the valve cover. Model 302BMRPW5 Those numbers make sense however the other numbers I gave you are also on the sticker. Can you tell me the specs of that engine. It appears to be Chevy with a two barrel. Release B. What is the difference of B to A. Also there are two horsepower ratings. 130 and 175. Which do I have.

That's it. Though, I think the "5" at the end is actually an "S". 1990 3.0. 140HP

3.0 liter chevy is the 181cu. engine.
