I'm replacing u-joint the bellow and some washers on the pivot hsg. I got the housing off, but getting it free of the lwr shift cable was a real hassle, and I had to put a lot of bending force on the cable as I rotated the housing.
I tried to pull the shift cable out for an inch or two more to work with, but didn't get it to move.
Is there a trick to this or is it just one of those things you have to do carefully in order to keep from kinking the shift cable?
