I am attempting to remove a leaking oil cooler from a 1989 OMC Cobra with chev 350 engine. All hose clamps are off.... water hoses are off. I am have problems with the following.

#1. The 2 oil lines will not pull off the nipples.. and I mean I am flat giving it my all to pull them off and they just wont come. I have room on 1 cut at end of nipple the other I dont. Suggestions?????

#2. I have removed the bolt from the clap the holds the cooler to the block yet the clamp wont open. I need to go open so I can remove the cooler. Due to the oil line connections, you are not able to slide the cooler out of the bracket. How on earth does this bracket open????

The lines going to the cooler are "low pressure return lines" ,they can simply be cut and extended

Thats just what I had to do. I put a small slit on each hose and finally even with the cuts I got them to pull off when quite a bit of effort. As far as the bracket, I discovered that you have to remove the bolt that mounts the bracket to the block in order to remove the cooler. It is now in my hands and is headed to the radiator shop for repairs!!!!!!!!!! WOW What a chore and talk about hard to get to!!!!
