OMC Cobra out drive dipstick

1994 omc cobra 4.3, went to change outdrive oil and discovered the dipstick has come off plug.it was there last year when i change oil.<br />i think its down in outdrive. any idea's or suggestions ?

You need to get that out of there as it will probably mess up your gears. You should be able to take the top piece of the outdrive off (four screws i think) and access that area without any issues. You can get one of those magents and see if you can get it out. I wonder why that piece would break off though...
